Information Collection IPC is the sole owner of the information collected on www.ipc.org and affiliated sites. IPC collects information at several different points on the website. Periodically, a user must complete a registration form to register for IPC events. During registration a user is required to give contact information. This information is used to contact the user about the event for which the user has registered. The IPC APEX EXPO™ attendee lists, for those who have accepted third party information, are made available to exhibitors for marketing purposes. Attendee postal information may also be shared with exhibitors on a one-time use basis. If an attendee objects to the use of their personal information for marketing purposes and notifies IPC of their objection, then their information shall not be used for such purposes. While placing an order, a user is asked to provide contact information and financial information. This information is used for billing purposes and to complete the customer’s order. If there is a problem processing an order, the information may be used to contact the user. Information is collected through cookies, log files, and/or third parties. Some of the collected information is tied to the user’s personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. IPC uses cookies to record session information such as items that visitors add to their shopping cart. Database Confidentiality IPC does not sell or share e-mail addresses with other organizations without the express permission of the user. IPC does not sell contact information from the database. Log Files Website log files are used to store information such as: Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement within the site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. The log files are used by utility tracking software to analyze user movement. E-mail tracking Html-based e-mails may track if they have been opened by the recipients. Additional information may be collected as well, including identifiers, date and time of page views and a description of the page viewed (URL.) If you do not wish to be tracked via e-mail, you will need to disable HTML images or refuse HTML (select Text only) e-mails via your e-mail software. Legal Disclaimer Though every effort is made to preserve user privacy, it may be necessary to disclose personal information when required by law, such as in compliance with a court order or other legal or governmental process, wherein a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on the website. Notifications IPC may contact user via email in the future to tell user about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy. Users who do not wish to receive e-mail should visit the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the e-mail or send an e-mail with the subject line "Remove Email" to dataentry@ipc.org. Include your name, postal address, and e-mail address in the e-mail body. IPC may also access user contact information to reach user through phone, mail or fax. Ad Servers IPC does not partner with nor have special relationships with ad server companies. Links This website may contain links to non-IPC sites. IPC is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. IPC's privacy statement applies solely to information collected by IPC's website. Listserv e-mail discussion forums IPC hosts a number of e-mail discussion forums. The subscriber list of these forums is kept private, and not released outside IPC. Whenever users voluntarily disclose personal information online, that information can be collected and used by others. By posting personal information online that is publicly accessible, users may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Security This website takes every precaution to protect user information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and off-line. SSL encryption software is used on forms requesting sensitive information. User information is restricted within the IPC offices. IPC employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Servers that store personally identifiable information are in a locked facility. Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information If a user’s personally identifiable information changes or is inaccurate, or if a user no longer desires the services provided, user should send an e-mail to Customer Service at dataentry@ipc.org, or contact IPC by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below. IPC will communicate any changes or deletions of personally identifiable information to any other organizations to whom IPC has disclosed the information in accordance with this policy, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort. IPC will delete a user’s personally identifiable information when the information is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was collected, when the user request that the information be deleted, or when the information must be deleted for compliance with a legal obligation. Data Breaches In the event that a data breach is discovered and is determined to result in a high risk to the rights of users, IPC will communicate the data breach to users without undue delay.
